About

Light Up Moms’ mission is to help moms go from guilty, overburdened, and isolated to vibrant, inspired, and connected through uplifting, anti-judgmental web content and opportunities to form online and in-person communities.

Who am I?

My name is Rebecca Krzmarzick (Kriz + mar + zick) and yes, that is a selfie I awkwardly took of myself at the local public library while frantically struggling to get this blog configured and published. (It’s harder than you might think!) I live in Cleveland with my husband and 18-month-old daughter. I have been gifted this obsession with doing anything in my power to reduce emotional and spiritual suffering in other moms. I’m not an expert on anything. I try to advocate for moms and I share my observations when I think they might be helpful. I believe moms need each other, and hope to expand this online community into real life mom communities in the near future. If this website helps even one mom out there, then it is all completely worth it to me.

I’m a fan of: moms of all kinds; working moms, stay-at-home moms, work from home moms, married moms, single moms, divorced moms, moms of all ages and backgrounds. I genuinely mean this: you are all amazing to me. Also, coffee.

Not a big fan of: judgmentalism, excessive or overly specific parenting advice, the mommy wars, exclusivity, baby socks (those things are impossible to keep track of.)

What will you find here at Light Up Moms: My observations about life, motherhood, the human condition, etc. My efforts to unpack some of the struggles and questions plaguing moms. My experiences, ideas, or thoughts on life as a mom that I hope might resonate and make you feel less alone. Mostly, I just write stuff I need to hear.

What you won’t find here at Light Up Moms: parenting advice (because I really have no advice.) Specific answers to the tough motherhood questions (I don’t have those either.) Sorry not sorry.
